MaryCay brings a wealth of executive experience, having held senior leadership positions with both Thomson Reuters and Westlaw prior to joining FMG Leading. 

 
 

MaryCay also serves as an executive coach, weaving a unique blend of pragmatic business savvy with neuroscience in a way that ignites executives and their teams. Her approach envisions an inspiring future and unlocks the passion and potential within the organization through a blend of customized tools, workshops, retreats, and coaching.

MaryCay earned her Bachelor of Arts in Quantitative Methods and English, and Master of Science degree in Software Design from the University of St. Thomas, and her Executive MBA from the Wharton School of Business.

EXPERIENCE

MaryCay is a Principal for FMG Leading, a group of advisors and educators committed that create world-class organizations at the intersection of business strategy and human capital performance. MaryCay has over 25 years of experience invigorating business performance through a new paradigm of leadership that makes the extraordinary predictable.

Prior to joining FMG Leading, MaryCay worked in both the technology and professional services industries. She partnered with IBM and Control Data to develop tools for the professional services industry, and also served as Chief of Staff within the Legal & Regulatory division of the Thomson Reuters portfolio. At Thomson Reuters, she held P&L responsibility for a $900m professional services business line. While at Thomson Reuters, MaryCay created and led executive development programs that prepared C-Level leaders for next-level positions. The experiential programs focused on engaging Fortune 100 CEOs and thought leaders in preparing high-potential executives for CEO roles. These innovative programs enabled over 200 high-potential C-suite leaders to lead more complex businesses, growing the overall portfolio. She also spearheaded the cultural integration of over 20 acquisitions, guiding the leader development and human capital aspects of evolving traditional businesses to new paradigms while navigating founder/CEO transitions and strategic alignment issues. In addition to these projects, MaryCay led large-scale, market-facing transformation at Thomson Reuters, re-tooling the business for scale, while realizing $20m in cost savings and improving customer service.

In her current role as a strategic change leader for FMG Leading, MaryCay combines her unique business savvy with neuroscience in a way that ignites executives and their teams. Her expertise as a strategic guide, speaker, facilitator, and transformation partner is increasingly sought by organizations and leaders who are ready to move beyond traditional management models.

MaryCay’s client work includes guiding large-scale change, aligning leader development to business strategy, and empowering new paradigms for collaboration and organizational transformation. She focuses on optimizing human performance, organizational culture, and alignment of human capital to create sustainable results. MaryCay’s diverse client list spans professional services companies from the tax, accounting, legal, management consulting, technology, and marketing services industries.

PERSONAL

MaryCay resides in San Diego with her husband and their dogs. An avid outdoorsman, she enjoys water sports, hiking, gardening, biking, nature and equine adventures, and spending time with her extended family.
