Tom Rottenberger

Senior Consultant

Tom brings over 25 years of experience to FMG Leading, with a particular expertise in organizational assessment, team effectiveness, change leadership, cultural transformation, and human capital strategy.

Through his unique background in both corporate and consulting, Tom enables leaders to drive sustainable, meaningful change, aligning strategy and culture to accelerate growth. Prior to FMG Leading, he was Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Vice President of Organizational Effectiveness for Univision Communications, Inc., where he drove large-scale change across the enterprise. Tom also served as a Partner at Oliver Wyman Delta Consulting (formerly Mercer Delta) designing leadership and organization solutions for C-Suite clients. 

Tom earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from St. Francis College in New York, and his his Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

EXPERIENCE

Tom serves as a Senior Consultant at FMG Leading, a group of advisors and educators that drive organizational transformation by maximizing leader, team, and culture performance. He brings over 25 years of experience, with a particular expertise in organizational assessment, team effectiveness, change leadership, cultural transformation, and human capital strategy. Through his unique background in both corporate and consulting, Tom enables leaders to drive sustainable, meaningful change, accelerate strategy and growth, and achieve breakthrough business results. Prior to FMG Leading, Tom was Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Vice President of Organizational Effectiveness for Univision Communications, Inc., a major multi-platform media company and top five broadcast network in the US. There, he reported to the CEO and drove large-scale change across the enterprise He also designed and built a strategic human capital capability. Earlier in his career, Tom was a Partner at Oliver Wyman Delta Consulting (formerly Mercer Delta) designing leadership and organization solutions for C-Suite clients. Tom has also served as Worldwide Head of People and Change & Chief Learning Officer for Omnicom Media Group, where he reported to the global CEO and led the effort that merged three previously independent media entities into one.Earlier in his career, Tom was Director of Consulting Services at Stromberg Consulting, where he focused on strategy execution. He has also spent several years inhouse at top investment banks, working on business transformation and merger integration.

He has also worked with Private Equity firms to optimize the value of human capital in their portfolios. He has moderated panels and designed workshops delivered at the Private Equity Institute (PEI). Tom has worked across numerous industries and has consulted to clients such as Omnicom Inc., JP Morgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Deloitte, MasterCard Worldwide, Hilton Corp, Citigroup, WPP Inc., National Geographic and Saks Fifth Avenue.

ACADEMIC AFFILIATIONS

Tom earned a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in Philosophy from St. Francis College in New York. He earned his Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management from New York University’s Stern School of Business. As a coach, Tom was affiliated with the Stanford University Executive Program and coached senior executive participants.

PERSONAL

Tom enjoys running, participating in several 10k races each year, along with the occasional half marathon and marathon. He is also an amateur essayist and maintains participation in writing workshops in New York. Tom and his wife reside in New York City, and have two grown daughters.
