He brings a holistic approach to both corporate strategy and individual development, aligning overall business context and goals with the human capital capabilities required for organizations to thrive. Mitch excels at guiding executive leaders through complex and nuanced situations where the stakes are high, primarily advising middle-market private equity-backed executives and investors, as well as senior leaders from a wide range of industries. His specialty is preparing executives to build and lead high-performing teams as they take on new growth expectations and the increased pace commonly associated with an infusion of growth capital.

Mitch earned a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Insurance from the University of Rhode Island, and his Master of Divinity degree from the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts.

An experienced and grounded leader, advisor, and business coach, Mitch brings over 30 years of experience to his role as Principal, Investors & Private Equity.  Mitch partners with investors, boards, and management teams to implement human capital strategies that support change initiatives, overcome ambiguity, and accelerate profitable growth.

Mitch brings a unique and diverse background to his role at FMG Leading. He brings a holistic approach to both corporate strategy and individual development, aligning overall business context and goals with the human capital capabilities required for organizations to thrive.  Mitch excels at guiding executive leaders through complex and nuanced situations where stakes are high, advising middle-market private equity investors and management teams from a wide range of industries. His work helps portfolio company leaders build the alignment required to ensure momentum around their investment thesis - with a particular focus on the first 100 days post-close.  Mitch also works with Healthcare and Physician Leaders, guiding both new and more seasoned executives through organization-wide change initiatives and periods of rapid growth.

Mitch began his professional career as a financial planner with MetLife, where he was recognized as his region’s top performer. After MetLife, Mitch followed an alternative but rich leadership path, serving as an apprentice in two churches before founding “New England Chapel” outside of Boston, Massachusetts. Over two decades, Mitch guided that organization from a small startup team with a dream, to becoming a community of over 1,000 people, supported by 350 volunteers. NEC is not only impacting its region as a relevant and practical place for transformation, but also partners with like-minded organizations and agencies all over the globe.  Along the way, Mitch gained the necessary leadership experience and visionary communications expertise he brings to clients today. Mitch brings clients real-world insights around creating alignment, guiding teams, breaking through plateaus, and creating values-driven, high-growth organizations.

In addition, Mitch is a sought-after executive coach, with a philosophy centered around creating value within each client’s unique business context. He engages leaders fully by aligning “head, heart and hands.” Mitch’s approach to recognizing opportunities and possibilities helps senior executives ‘show up' and perform at their best and strive for continuous improvement.

PUBLICATIONS AND SPEECHES

Mitch is a regular contributor to Forbes Coaches Council, an invitation-only organization for senior-level executive coaches. He is also the author of “A Place for Skeptics”, published in 2006, a book in which readers are introduced to a daily faith experience in a simple but profound way that is connected to the classic Christian tradition.

PERSONAL

Mitch lives with his wife, Cindi, in Wells, Maine. They enjoy spending time with their 3 adult children and one granddaughter. He credits his family for having a profound effect on his belief in the wisdom of strong partnerships where everybody wins. While enjoying their empty nest, Mitch and Cindi also love hosting friends and family, traveling whenever they can, cherishing the Maine coastline, and their German Shepherd, Mila.
