Kim Bomberger

Senior Consultant

A people-focused leader, Kim has a unique blend of foreign policy, national security, and leadership development experience.

Before joining FMG Leading, Kim spent more than 20 years in the federal government. She most recently served at the US Embassy in Amman, Jordan as a Foreign Service officer with the US Department of State. Kim also served as a CIA officer, where she prepared assessments of world leaders and decisionmakers to help senior policymakers in the White House, Congress, and in the military understand and deal with their foreign counterparts. She draws on her unique background to build relationships across nationalities, organizations, and cultures and to lead transformational change initiatives.

Kim earned a B.A. in International Studies from Austin College and an M.A. in History from George Mason University.

EXPERIENCE

Kim is a Senior Consultant at FMG Leading, a team of coaches and advisors that help clients achieve breakthrough performance through world-class human capital strategy. She is passionate about connecting with others and encouraging them to bring forth their best selves to change the world one step and one relationship at a time. A people-focused leader, Kim has a unique blend of foreign policy and national security experience, and leadership development expertise.

Before joining FMG Leading, Kim spent more than 20 years in the federal government where she was recognized with multiple awards and for service in a warzone. She most recently served at the US Embassy in Amman, Jordan as a Foreign Service officer with the US Department of State. For most of her federal career, Kim was a CIA officer where she prepared assessments of world leaders and decisionmakers to help senior policymakers in the White House, Congress, and in the military understand and deal with their foreign counterparts. She also worked with colleagues at the FBI to strengthen analytic efforts and deepen cooperation following the September 11, 2001 attacks.

Kim has been recognized for her accomplishments leading, developing, and motivating people throughout her federal career. She has managed high-profile analytic teams and programs at the forefront of US national security interests. Kim was selected to serve as an instructor at the Sherman Kent School for Intelligence Analysis, where she designed, led, and facilitated leadership development programs and courses for senior CIA analysts and managers.

Kim believes strongly that trust and authenticity are inextricably linked. She has drawn on this dynamic to build relationships across nationalities, organizations, and cultures and to lead transformational change initiatives.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

Kim earned a B.A. in International Studies from Austin College and an M.A. in History from George Mason University. She holds a Leadership Coaching Certificate from Georgetown University and is certified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

PERSONAL

Originally from Texas, Kim lives with her husband in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Her two stepsons are among her greatest joys. Kim enjoys volunteering in her community, yoga, travel, and long walks with her German Shepherd.
